EXHIBITORS MUST BE RESIDENTS

       Health Rules for Goats       

GOAT HEALTH RULES:  ALL GOATS MUST HAVE AN OFFICIAL EAR TAG OR   LEGIBLE BREED TATTOO.        

NEW RULE

ALL GOATS EXCEPT WETHERS MUST BEAR AN OFFICIAL U.S.D.A./A.RH.I.S.

EAR TAG TO BE EXHIBITED AT THE SHOW. THE ONLY EXCEPTIONS ARE THOSE

GOATS THAT HAVE A REGISTRATION TATTOO AND HAVE BEEN CODED WITH A

PREMISE ID. NUMBER.        

No goat showing clinical signs of contagious or infectious disease including caseous lymphadenitis, sore mouth, active ringworm, foot rot, warts, lice and mange will be admitted to the show. 

Health Certificates — An accredited veterinarian shall sign the statement of health on the AAI-11 test report that he examined the animal(s) within 30 days of issuance of the health certificate. All animals must be accompanied by an official health certificate.

           Tuberculosis test — Not required.

           No teat required for Brucellosis.

           All animals must be individually identified on the health certificate.       

Section 1

Dairy Goats 

1. Get of sire shall consist of three doe from a particular sire with not more than one under one year old allowed, and no more than one animal from every multiple birth allowed. Get of Sire need not be owned by the exhibitor Entries in this class shall be made in the name of the Sire. 

2. Produce of Dam shall consist of two doe of different ages, the produce of one Dam. Produce of Dam need not be owned by the exhibitor. Entries in this class shall be made In the name of the Dam.        

3.   A Dairy Herd shall consist of three milking doe of one breed, any age.       

4. The Senior Champion class shall consist of all first place winners in the first three classes,  or Doe one year old and under two. In milk, and older animals. 

5. The Junior champion class shall consist of all first place winners in Classes 2 and 3, or Doe, one year old and under two, not in milk, and younger animals.        

6.   Grand Champion class shall consist of Best of Breed in each division.       

7. Only Doe entered in other classes may compete in the Get of Sire, Milking Produce of Dam, and

         1.  Doe, 3 years old and over

         2.  Doe, 2 years old and under 3

         3.  Doe, 1 year old and under 2, in milk

         4.  Doe, I year old and under 2, not in milk

         5.  Doe, under five months

         6.  Kid, five months old, and under 1 year

         7.  Get of Sire

         8.  Produce of Dam

         9.  Milking Herd - Limited to three animals

         10.  Best Udder in show

         11.  Best Doe bred by exhibitor

         12.  Senior Champion Doe

         13.  Reserve Senior Champion Doe

         14.  Junior Champion Doe

         15.  Reserve Junior Champion Doe

         16.  Senior Best in Show

         17.  Junior Best in Show      

         NOTE:     The same classification and premiums as stated above are to apply to each of the following breeds:

               A-Alpine - French, Rock and Swiss                     E - Toggenburg

               B – LaMancha                                                        F-   Recorded Grades

               C – Nubian                                                             G - Unrecorded Grades

               D - Saanen
