Health Rules for Swine

1.   No swine showing clinical signs of contagious or infectious disease will be admitted to show.       

2.   All show swine must be individually identified by either ear tag, ear notch, or tattoo.

      An official health certificate (AA1-1S), signed by an accredited veterinarian must all swine.     It must state that the animal(s) show no signs of contagious or infectious The certificate must be used within 30 days of the opening date of the show and list all animals. 

           - NEW -  Pseudorables test MUST BE DONE within 90 days of the Fair

           No Brucellosis test required.

 

PENNSYLVANIA SWINE

HEALTH CERTIFICATE: A certificate of health prepared by an accredited veterinarian shall be forwarded to the bureau of Animal Industry, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17110, not less than five days prior to the opening date of the fair. A duplicate of the certificate, and a copy of the brucellosis test report shall accompany the animal to the fair.      

           Individual Barrow farrowed after Feb. 1, 20__

A.     Light Weight, 180-200 pounds

           B. Medium Weight, 201-220 pounds

           C. Heavy Weight, 221-250 pounds       

           Pair of barrows, farrowed after Feb. 1, 20__

           Individual Weight:

          180-220 lbs. - Light Weight

           201-221 lbs. -Medium Weight

           221-250 lbs. - Heavy Weight       

         NOTE: The same classification and premiums stated above are to apply to each of the      following breeds:

             A - Berkshire                      E - Poland China                I - Landrace

             B - Chester White                   F – Spotted                                    J - Crossbreeds

             C - Duroc                                       G - Yorkshire

             D - Hampshire                    H - Others (by breeds)
